A Poem for Dads: Celebrating the Unseen Moments

I stumbled upon this little gem and, though I’m not usually one for poetry, I found it to be a really nice piece. It’s a heartfelt tribute to all the dads out there who work tirelessly behind the scenes, often without recognition, to make their children’s lives better. Here’s to you, dads:

This is for all the times that get no rewards,
For making them laugh when they get bored.
For all the presents bought when funds are low,
For being the taxi to where they want to go.

For riding the tantrums in the store,
For finding the money when they want more.
For all the hugs when they feel sad,
For being there when times are bad.

For supporting their dreams every day,
For showing you’re proud in every way.
For school runs and lunch box making,
For tying ponytails and teaching baking.

For sleepless nights and nightmare dreams,
For giving medicine and applying creams.
For hiding your feelings when things get rough,
For keeping them happy when life gets tough.

For being strong when you’re happy or sad,
For being the best you can – because you’re an AWESOME dad!!

This poem really captures the essence of fatherhood, acknowledging the countless unseen and uncelebrated moments that dads contribute to their children’s lives. So here’s a shoutout to all the dads who keep showing up, day in and day out. You’re doing an incredible job!
